It is a good idea, what with so many of us thinking of holidaying further a-field, that we seek out advice from travellers who can pass on their pearls of wisdom. According to the article “Lend an ear for some new and improved travel advice” travelling to an unfamiliar holiday destination could cost us a lot more than we hoped.
One of the main reasons we are travelling further abroad is to get better value for money by steering clear of a euro currency holiday. Many are planning on heading for the likes of Cuba, the Caribbean, Mexico, Turkey and the USA.
One way to economise and get in on a good accommodation package is to go through your banks travel service department as the author of the article did. Making use of her bank in this fashion provided a one hundred per cent saving. This is one holiday trip that is definitely worth a try!

fepute asked: I bought 2 tickets to South africa from Nationwide airlines through Expedia online. A week after having taken my money, i received an e-mail from Expedia saying the airline has gone bankrupt and that they cannot refund me as they are only an agent to find cheap flights. I’ve also tried to reverse the transaction with my bank to no avail. please help!

Planning a trip to Dubai or Egypt this year? Abandoning the usual Spanish holiday resorts and the Canaries for a destination you have never been to before? Good for you! Travel really does broaden the mind and it certainly doesn’t hurt to learn about the customs and ways of life of other countries.
New rule books and codes of customs to observe, you may not be too surprised to hear that some countries have different ideas of what constitutes appropriate behaviour! According to the article “These smoking hot travel tips could save your bacon!” picking up the Rule Book before you set off could turn out to be a life-saver! Kissing in public is illegal in Dubai and you could get arrested for carrying your daily medication. Cover up your arms ladies when visiting the marketplaces or souks and mosques, no matter how hot it gets. Revealing your legs or arms can be seen as a sign of disrespect and will attract the worst kind of attention! Buy a guidebook before you set off for these complicated countries and contact the British Foreign Office for advice.

Even the best-laid plans can let you down at the last minute! Even the most organised among us can overlook something, so if this article has no other impact on your life, it could help you in some way! According to the article “Read on! This could happen to you!” despite preparation, a trip abroad can still go wrong! You have done all the right things, you’ve checked your passport, your travel insurance, your tickets, your Visas and then suddenly something out of the blue rears its ugly head and your holiday disintegrates in front of your eyes!
To avoid something going wrong and losing all the money you paid for a holiday, at the time of booking double check all the details with your travel agent, insurer and always read the small print!

Anyone who’s thinking of travelling over to the United States should know all about ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) and if you haven’t you will pat yourself generously on the back for finding this blog. Glad that I am to being of assistance.
According to the article “Hark! New visa rules for US travellers” if you travel without an ESTA you could either come unstuck at your domestic airport or worse still manage to fly across to the US only to be turned back at customs. Not even your travel insurance will come to your rescue as they deem essential travel documents your responsibility and not that of anyone else’s!
To immediately apply for an ESTA your first step is to log onto the website https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta. Your passport details will be required along with additional personal details and specific details regarding your travel plans.
