Clothing Donations

Everyone likes to get involved in charitable endeavors but if your wallet doesn’t have any change to spare you may think you have nothing to offer. There are many ways to contribute to bettering the lives of others and one way is to go through your closet. Clothing donations are an easy way to give back to your community and to give to people who may not be as blessed as you are.

... always on the look out for new clothing donations to add to their collection of sellable products ...

Once you’ve gone through your belongings and you have a box of goodies to give you have several choices of places to turn to. Thrift stores such as the Goodwill or Value Village are always on the look out for new clothing donations to add to their collection of sellable products. Of course you will not want to donate unusable clothing, as that would do no one any good. But you can always donate those old clothes that you replaced this year.

People who have kids can find it convenient and an easy way to get rid of clothing their children have outgrown by going to a clothing donations outlet and simply dropping them off. It is the next best thing to using them as hand me downs for younger children. And with the way children grow, it may not be a bad idea to even shop for them at clothing donations locations. Just because the clothing at these kinds of places is not new, does not mean they won’t be like new to your loved ones. And most times the clothing received from clothing donations are in great shape and will last throughout this part of your child’s growth spurt.

... you may want to think about getting friends and neighbors involved ...

When you decide to get involved in collection gently used clothes, you may want to think about getting friends and neighbors involved with you. Start by placing flyers around your neighborhood offering to take in clothing donations if they drop them by your place. This will enable camaraderie with neighbors, and in turn helps your community in a nice way. This point alone is a good reason to get involved in the charity.

When all is said and done, you can be proud of what you are doing for your community and you can rest assured that whoever benefits from these items is very grateful indeed. Donating does not have to be something you continually do in order to make a difference. Clothing donations even just one time per year can make a huge difference in the lives of many throughout your community. As they say, what goes around comes around and you can be sure that when it comes around to you, it will be kind.
