Spider plants are your best bet. They are pet and kid friendly and do not requre a lot of maintenance.

Golden pothos….I have one in my bathroom with no windows even!…..It doesn’t grow without light….But it lives!

Spider plants are very high maintenance. They require watering at least every other day. If hung from the ceiling as most are, they are a lure for the cats. They love swinging from them.

Sadly, most common house plants are toxic. I have found a wonderful resource in the garden folks at Lowe’s and Home Depot. They are more than clerks; they are experienced in all manner of flora.

Of course, the internet is an option for info. But I prefer live people. Good Luck to You…

I suggest a Jade plant. Not only are the uber attractive, but they are very low maintenence. They are from the cactus family and need watered only a few times a month or once a month during winter. They hardly need repotting and never need pruning Also they aren’t poisonious for kids or pets.
