Due to stress my parakeet pulled most of its feathers. How long does it take for them to grow back?

how to grow
Dave R asked:

I just got a new parakeet and it pulled its tail, chest, and back feathers out. He still has feather on his head and wings. He is still very healthy and playful. He stopped pulling once I bought him some parakeets to share the cage with. How long will Kojack (that what I named him because he is now bald) to grow his feathers back?

If he lets them grow back, a few weeks. I’ve had pluckers before, and they’re very sensitive to the slightest changes. There is a slight possibility that he might not let them grow back. I haven’t heard about that in parakeets though, so don’t worry to much about it. But just keep in mind that you need to make sure that the parakeet goes through a limited amount of drastic changes. My green cheek is quite attached to me, and if I leave for too long or can’t hold her for a few days due to illness, she will start to pluck her chest.
