From DVDs to homes – the fascinating art of the swap!

February 28th, 2009 — 03:40 am

Everyone is swapping! From unwanted DVD games to DIY skills, whatever you want, you will find you can usually swap for it! The world is changing and we don’t need money to live in it. Hallelujah!

Once we’ve discovered the items we want to swap what happens next? According to the article “The art of swapping till you drop” is to find out where to swap our unwanted belongings which is decided after Googling the words ‘swap shop’. At the last count there were nearly four hundred thousand listings so there will be some browsing to do! There are many websites to choose from such as ‘snaffleup’ and ‘swapshop’, students prefer to swap at ‘studentswapshop and for skills – swapping check out ‘teamuphere’ and ‘skillswap’.

It seems everyone is in on it and that swapping is taking over the world. No more will people be able to say they purchased something at Gap or Next for those days are long gone! In response to an enquiry as to the origin of an item we can now say we swapped for it with Maureen of Windsor! Not only that, but we can add that the swap involved an old jigsaw puzzle for a pair of silver platform shoes and that we got the better deal.

Is it possible to combine my personal loan with a mortgage?

February 27th, 2009 — 10:23 pm
loan
MJ asked:

I have a personal loan with the bank for £15,000. I want to get a property, but I know I won’t be able to get a mortgage and pay the loan at the same time. I therefore wondered if it would be possible to incorporatre the loan into the mortage, so I basically add £15000 onto the mortgage. What do you think?

My blood presure is through the roof and I am starting to feel like I need a real long sleep. If I am not around any more what happens to the debts? Can they demand payment from my estate or does the debt die with me?

Charlotte M asked:

I am currently paying back some store cards and credit cards with which I got into a bit of a mess a couple of years ago! However me and my partner have been thinking of purchasing a house. I am worried that I won’t get a mortgage due to my bad credit history! Are there any mortgage providers who would still give me a mortgage or take into consideration the fact that I am now in control of my debts and on the right path to clearing them?

jjp asked:

I have debts of £10000 just on credit cards, i have no mortgage, just privately rent. My wages have just halved in size and am unsure if i can pay the £260 minimum payments on the cards. What would happen to my credit rating if i went on a debt managment plan?
I would like to get a mortgage eventually one day so if i can help it i would like to keep my rating ok.
Any advice?
