i always thought u payed until all ur debt was paid off.

if ur having trouble with the repayments now go to a debt managment company or citizens advice and get some help from them

There’s no time limit – until it’s paid off. If you’re really struggling then you can try to renegotiate how much you pay but it’ll take longer to clear.

Hi, Ive been in the same position as you back in 1993. Did you not take legal advice when/before your flat was repossessed? I was advised to go Bankrupt because of the size of the debt which I did, Abbey National then resold my flat which released me from the risk of them taking me to court once the Bankruptcy had expired. It sounds like you will be paying this debt for the rest of your life surely Abbey have resold your flat by now which means they are being paid twice for the same property.I would try arrange to see a solicitor who deals with property deals if I was you try get theCCJ payments stopped.Good Luck with it

hiya martin, go to Citizen advice, i had similar as you and was finding it very hard to keep payments up.i took all my paper work to Citizen advice.they look into it.they did all the phoning around and filled in all the forms.it never cost me a penny as its all free.they reduced my monthly payments.i was paying £378 pm. im know paying £135 pm.so as you see its worth a trip to see them.good luck.
