I am finding a new shed can be quite costly and labor-intensive.
I am not that handy and am wondering what type of work would be required to fix the rust holes on the current roof (there are a lot of little ones).

a five gallon bucket of roof tar can go a long way and cheaper than buying a new roof. if they are only tiny holes tar should repair it
Why dont you just see if there is a metal building contractor around and maybe he will have some Standing Seam scrap panels left over from a job and sell it to you cheap. Or look at the Home Depot, Menards and see if they have sheets of it. That way all you have to replace is the roof.
You could probably srub it down with Steel wool and apply a roofing sealant that is clear in color to the whole roof..maybe 2 gallons? GOOD LUCK!
You can purchase roof coatings that are made for this purpose..check out BAKOR products..also there are less expensive products like fibrous roof coating that all building supply stores would carry.with that depending on hole size you may want to cover the shed contents so you don’t drip black gunk on it.
as a owner of dx-builders, post frame and metal frame buildings we work with metal everyday you can seal the holes with caulk them apply aluminum paint but i have to worn u once the cancer starts yur usually s o l and you will be doing this forever if u want e-mail me with size of shed and i can give you a some in-site on what yur expense will be to replace roof,
if it was mine i would replace the roof and no more worries
if you choose to do this don’t let anyone sell you on a new building if all u need is the roof, trust me contractors will try to sell u on complete job!!
